Allergen, Inc. introduced Latisse for lashes! With its powerful formulation, Latisse received the approval of the Food and Drug Administration as a medicine for eyelash hypotrichosis – a condition of eyelash insufficiency. It contains 0.03 percent of ophthalmic solution named bimatoprost which plays a vital role in the enhancement of the eyelashes. Bimatoprost affects the structure of the eyelashes and makes them grow darker, fuller, and longer. Majority of Latisse users have already confirmed the efficiency of Latisse.
No definite discussion was ever published about the operation of Latisse that affects the growth of eyelashes. However, it was said that its sole active ingredient named bimatoprost had made things possible. The anagen phase or the growth of eyelashes is prolonged, thus eyelashes tend to grow beyond its normal length. This claim has been proven and tested through the several clinical tests conducted.
People who have eyelash hypotrichosis are opting to use Latisse for lashes since it is effective and can be applied easily. Ideally, Latisse solution is applied daily, but only once. Its application focuses on the top lashes, on their base part. After 4 weeks of regular application, a patient begins to notice gradual transformation on their eyelashes. After 16 weeks of regular application, full results are obtained. However, if you want to maintain your whole new pair of lashes, you shouldn’t discontinue your application. Otherwise, lashes will gradually go back in its original structure.
Although everybody craves for longer and darker lashes, some are not just right for Latisse application. People who are reported to have eye infection and skin eyelid irritation are not advised to use Latisse.
The use of Latisse may trigger some manifestations such as redness and itchiness of the eyes. Around 4 percent of Latisse users developed some side effects throughout the duration of their treatment. Eye irritation, skin darkening, eyelid redness, and eye dryness often occurs as side effects. Due to these side effects, a question arose questioning the safety of Latisse application.
When FDA approved Latisse, one thing that they considered is the safety of the product. Latisse for lashes is bought through a prescription. The clinical studies done by FDA validated the purity, identity, effectiveness, ingredient stability of the Latisse product. After the series of tests, FDA confirmed that Latisse can really work on eyelash growth. Allergan would have not spent number of years figuring out the formulation of Latisse if they don’t see the potential of the product.
